This long blue raincoat is more or less the first coat Lotte designed when she started back in 1987. With the exception of a couple of very small changes, this coat is more or less sewn to exactly the same pattern that was constructed back in the late 80s.
It is a small piece of history for us at McVERDI, and it’s so lovely that year after year it still proves it belongs in the collection. Long and beautiful, and like the other raincoats, just perfect for Scandinavian weather because it is both windproof and highly water-repellent, and lined with a wool lining that is warm and cozy.
The raincoat has a long season and lasts a long time, and it has a timeless and classic design. The coat is very water-repellent, but it is not welded at the seams and does not have 100% rainproof details – so it is a great choice as a transitional coat for the wet spring or autumn, but not an alternative to a 100% practical raincoat. In return, you get a lovely piece of outerwear that can also be worn in almost any kind of weather. We call it a fashion raincoat.
The coat has a decorative zipper that goes all the way up to the collar and zippered pockets. It has fine topstitching along the edges and on the back vent. The coat has inner pockets.
The coat’s outer fabric consists of 65% cotton and 35% polyethylene, which gives the material a rubber surface. The rubber surface makes the outer material windproof and highly water-repellent, while the cotton makes it a practical coat that breathes. The coat’s lining consists of 80% wool and 20% polyamide.
The coat is extremely easy to care for. It should simply be wiped with a damp cloth and hung to air occasionally. The coat CANNOT be dry-cleaned and as a rule should not be washed. However, it is possible to wash the coat gently on a wool program in the machine when it really needs it, but this should only be done very rarely. The somewhat limited options for washing and dry cleaning have never been a problem in the nearly 35 years we have produced the coats.
The outer material used for this coat is produced in Italy by the same manufacturer for 35 years. The wool lining is also produced in Italy, while the coat is sewn in Bulgaria. NOTE! The coat is very water-repellent, but it is not welded at the seams and does not have 100% rainproof details.
Country of production: Bulgaria.
The coat has a LOOSE fit. In size medium it has a chest measurement of 128 cm, of which 26-30 cm is intended as extra width and the coat has a full length of 124 cm.
