McVERDI - us, it's just us...

.. and it has been for 39 years! The company is still run and owned by Lotte Honoré – and it has been that way since the early days in 1987. Since then, Juliane (Lotte's daughter) became part of the company – and even though the rest of the family is not on permanent employment, all sons, boyfriends, husbands and grandmother all have their part in the company, which is a strong foundation of identity in the family. We are therefore not owned by any capital fund and the purpose of the company is not maximum profit and growth to infinity.

In addition, we have the world's best team of dedicated McVERDI girls in the store and on the webshop, who help create the best universe around McVERDI to give you, our customers, the best experience!

A CAREFUL DESIGN PROCESS

Our entire design process and product development takes place in-house in our studio next to the store in Ålsgårde. We can follow everything that goes on in the store and thus have a feel for what our customers really want and how the clothes work in practice. When we start our trial process, we always have the right fabric in our hands, and Lotte sews the samples that are used to sell the collection and later kickstart production. We cut, adjust and re-sew to achieve the right look. This means that at a very early stage, quite a lot is rejected – or rather modified –. Sleeves, back pieces are changed and re-sewn to achieve the right look. In this way, we avoid lengthy trial processes with a supplier, where countless samples are sent back and forth by plane and where many samples never come to fruition. After a trial process, we have a sample of each style, which will be used to sell the collection and later to start production, and some smaller fabric scraps, which we often give away to some happy patchwork women.

LONG-LASTING QUALITIES

We primarily work with natural materials – linen, cotton, viscose and wool. If polyamide or similar synthetics are occasionally used in our fabrics, it is because we have placed a high value on extra durability or a special property (e.g. wind resistance). We mainly work with European-produced fabrics – typically from Italy. If we occasionally choose a supplier outside Europe, it is because we consider that they have a good product – for example, our denim (by train) comes from China, but is certified organic.

EUROPE PRODUCTION

All McVERDI designs are produced in Europe. We prioritize our cooperation with our manufacturers very highly. We cooperate with two family-owned factories in southern Bulgaria. This makes it possible to have all our deliveries carried by truck.

The majority of our collections are sewn from fabric from our Italian supplier and partner, who designs exclusive and completely unique fabrics especially for us.

SMALL QUANTITIES

We have two physical stores and our webshop. We also sell to a number of stores in Denmark and around Europe. Our quantities are not large. Many styles are produced exclusively for our own stores and there may be styles that are only sewn 20-25 pieces and are therefore quite unique. Our bestsellers are of course produced in larger quantities, but we bet safely so that we do not end up with a huge surplus stock.

ALWAYS READY TO HELP

We are a small, dedicated team and are located close to the office in Ålsgårde. We are available by phone, chat, text message, email and we do what we can to keep the return rate low to reduce shipments back and forth, including by being ready to guide you so that you find the right size on the first try. In the stores we have dedicated McVERDI women who can assist you with the right wardrobe choices with honest inputs, lots of knowledge about the product and inspiration, so that you come home with some clothes that you will be happy with for a long time.

An ever-active fabric stock

When our design process and production are complete, there are often leftovers of fabric and accessories. This is usually called “deadstock” or leftovers – but at McVERDI this leftover is our GOLD. The leftovers are always in our consciousness and are always used at some point. They can be used as part of the new collection or be conjured up into a small, exclusive intermediate production. Occasionally there may be larger batches of fabric that lie a little longer in our warehouse, waiting for the color to fit in the assortment again – but they always get used!

And if there are any leftovers at the end – we will hold one of our rare and sought-after fabric sales, where you can score a real bargain!

NO THANKS - FOR OFFER PARTIES

We only have very rare offers during the season and therefore opt out of Black Friday and other sale parties. We opt out because our products represent the real value of a delicious material, a caring design process, processing by skilled hands together with a timeless McVERDI DNA. In other words, our products do not become outdated after a few quick months – they are just waiting to find the right owner. That is why McVERDI clothes cost what they cost and are only very rarely discounted. However, we also need to clean up – so we hold two annual sales. Here we put popular items on sale, of which there are only a few left.

About every other year we hold an exclusive warehouse sale – we do this to sell the last remaining lots, to get McVERDI out to as many people as possible AND because it's super fun when it's in full swing. It's so nice to have a few busy days with traffic chaos around the warehouse and it's nice to meet all of you sweet customers when Lotte, Juliane and the rest of the McVERDI family are on the warehouse sales team.

And if there are any leftovers at the end – we will hold one of our rare and sought-after fabric sales, where you can score a real bargain!

A VALUABLE PRODUCT

When you buy a McVERDI product, we hope it will be your friend for many years.

We are delighted to see “old” coats on the street and are delighted to see how much-loved McVERDI products with many years of use are upcycled with small embroideries and patches. We often find that people have discovered us because they have bought a second-hand McVERDI product – and that is basically the best advertising.

McVERDI is something completely unique – a product created with care and attention to material and detail.
